In essence, the Annual Campaign subsidises tuition fees. Being an unrestricted fundraising campaign (our Buildings & Facilities, Scholarships and Endowment campaigns are all restricted as their names suggest), funds raised for the Annual Fund can be used for the "extras" we cannot quite achieve through Tuition.
IST's Mission includes accessibility and affordability; the Board of Trustees sets annual Tuition fees as low as reasonably possible, resulting in a gap between what the school would like to or should do and what we can currently afford to do. This gap is currently approximately $2000 per student, and we try to fill this gap with the Annual Campaign.
As a young, small elementary school, IST cannot rely solely on its families for funding. We need to go beyond to reach relatives, friends and colleagues on the one hand and to members of the wider community on the other. Please help by discussing IST with everyone you know, and by referring any questions or possible donors to the school or to the Annual Campaign page on the IST website.
The 2011/2012 Annual Campaign consists of donation requests and event-based fundraising. Donations do cost you something, although as IST is a registered not-for-profit they are tax-deductible (and donations to support Scholarships can attract a dollar-for-dollar Arizona state tax credit). However, the events we are offering are, we hope, mostly things which most of you will do. So please participate!
Every donation made to IST goes directly into supporting the school and its programme. Please help us "Open the World to Your Child". Thank you.
