Play Groups

Research shows that the best time to expose your child to the sounds of other languages is from birth to about age three; and the best time for language acquisition is from birth to around age seven. Research also shows that knowing another language makes your child’s brain bigger.

IST’s play groups are a language exposure programme for children 6– to 36-month-old, together with a parent or care-giver. Our play groups also are a great way to introduce you and your child to IST. As numbers allow, groups are split :

• ages 6 – 18 months = pre-verbal, unable to move independently
• 12 – 24 months = emerging verbal, beginning to move independently
• 18 – 36 months = verbal, moves independently

Each play group is limited to 8 parent/child pairings to ensure maximum participation from each child. Warning: parents are also expected to sing, clap hands and have fun!
