The first step
The parent(s) of the prospective student(s) meet(s) with the Head of Admissions to review the School and its programmes. One aim of this meeting is for the family to decide if IST’s philosophies and approaches are consistent with the family’s. For older students, it is also an opportunity to establish whether the child(ren) meets the academic and language requirements for the grade level to which s/he is applying, and whether s/he would be likely to succeed at that grade level. Should the family decide to proceed, they will be given a Registration Pack.
International and out-of-state applicants may contact the Head of Admissions for details as to how they might register their child(ren).
The second step
The family completes the Registration forms, and submits these together with the Registration Fee(s). If the application is for immediate entry, they then receive the Enrolment Pack.
If the application is not for immediate entry, the child is placed on a Waiting List until a place becomes available. When a place does become available, it is offered to those on the Waiting List following the preferences below. The family has a set time to respond after which the offer will lapse, however the family may elect to maintain its place on the Waiting List for future consideration. To accept the offer and to hold the place, the family pays an Enrolment Deposit which is deducted from the Tuition Fees payable at the time of Enrolment.
A place cannot be offered to a child who is not on a Waiting List. Offers for the following academic year are made to those families on the Waiting Lists around 1 March; any places remaining are released to Open Enrolment 1 April.
The third step
Following the family’s acceptance of a place (by completing the "Offer Acceptance" and paying the Tuition Deposit), the Enrolment procedure is completed by submitting such forms as vaccination records and the "Tuition Fee Agreement" together with the first Tuition Fee payment. This should be done around 15 July for the following academic year.
Enrolment Preferences
Preference is given to registered students in the order of seniority (length of time on the Waiting List) within each preference :
Non-Discrimination Policy
The International School of Tucson does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion or national heritage and each child is accepted on his / her individual merits.

Note:
*Please note that as we are an international school, we are using international spelling on this website. Accordingly, we have used “enrolment” instead of “enrollment”. However, as we are located in the US, the grammar, spelling and vocabulary we teach in our English programme is Standard American English, although we expect our students to be aware that other conventions exist.
