An Arizona State Tax Credit Scholarship is a needs-based award made to a family in the name of a specific student. It is awarded for one academic year as a payment made directly to the School. Families apply to a recognised School Tuition Organisation ("STO") which (a) receives the donations which fund the Scholarships and (b) makes the Scholarship awards. IST works with several STOs, but mostly with the Institute for Better Education here in Tucson.
An Arizona State Tax Credit Scholarship is awarded based on the family’s financial need as determined by athe STO, according to the funds available and is available to students in Reception (Kindergarten) - J5.
Families may also secure their own Tax Credit Scholarships by soliciting Arizona taxpayers to recommend their tax-credit qualifying donations to support a specific child. By canvassing family, friends, colleagues and neighbours, you may have a substantial portion of your child's tuition covered by a Tax Credit Scholarships. Not all STOs allow recommended funds although the Institute for Better Education currently does. Please contact us for more information.
IST families have in the past received awards from :
Please note that the religiously-based STOs do not make awards to schools such as IST.
