Play Groups
Research shows that the best time to expose your child to the sounds of other languages is from birth to about age three; and the best time for language acquisition is from birth to around age seven. Research also shows that knowing another language makes your child’s brain bigger.
IST’s play groups are a language exposure programme for children 6– to 36-month-old, together with their parent or care-giver. Our play groups also are a great way to introduce you and your child to IST. As numbers allow, groups are split into ages 6–18 months (pre-verbal); 12–24 months (emerging verbal) and 18–36 months (verbal). Each play group is limited to 12 parent/child pairings to ensure maximum participation from each child. Warning: parents are also expected to sing, clap hands and have fun!
