Instrumental Music News

Individual lessons are available before school every day : Cello, Guitar, Piano/Keyboards, Percussion, Violin and Voice. (Please contact the Head of Music for information on Voice lessons.) We hope to add a winds specialist who can offer lessons in Recorder, Flute or Saxophone. Ukelele is planned and we are considering Brass. (Please contact the Head of Music for information on Brass lessons.) Three levels are offered -

• Exploratory - meets once a week on a five-week sessional basis, and allows students to try an instrument and see if they like it
• Committed - meets three times a week on a five-week sessional basis, twice for lessons and once as a group "Master-class"; generally, students will be ready for optional Royal Schools of Music instrumental examinations in 3 - 4 semesters.
• Dedicated - meets daily, five times a week, on a semestral basis and also prepares students for Royal Schools of Music instrumental examinations in 1 - 2 semesters.

Tailor your child's music-learning to your preferences by selecting a combination of levels/instruments. For example, enrol in "Committed" piano lessons alongside guitar and/or violin "Exploratory" lessons. Lesson slots are 20 minutes long, with the intention that multiple short lessons will compensate for the inevitable lack of practice.
