French Section

IST is Tucson's French school and one of only two French-immersion schools in Arizona. However, we do not follow the French national curriculum. Rather, our programme is common across all IST's language Sections and so we appeal to all Francophones - Algerian, Belgian, Cameronian, Canadian, French, Ivorian, Lebanese, Swiss, Togoan ...We are in regular contact with the French Conslate General in Los Angeles, and the North American inspector of programmes for the French government. We are also considering affiliation with the "Mission Laique Francaise", an international association of French-medium schools.

Standards

IST's standards are drawn from the French national standards, and we use their national tests in our internal French Section assessments to set benchmarks and for external comparisons. We also participate each year in "Le Grand Concours", the national competition of the American Association of Teachers of French ("AATF").
