New program! English (with Spanish) for 3 and 4 year olds!

IST is now enrolling for 2013-14 for an English/Spanish class for 3 and 4 year olds. In this new offering for IST, preschool students will learn skills and content in English for most of the day and, additionally, will be taught one hour of Spanish per day from a native speaker. 2013 Language Immersion Summer Camp for Spanish, Chinese, French, and German: June 3-July 26

IST is now enrolling for our language-immersion summer camp for children ages 3-12. The camp runs for eight weeks, June 3-July 26, and students can sign up for any amount of weeks. The cost is $200 per week if you sign up before May 1. Children ages 3-5 receive all-day language immersion (half-day is also available). Children ages 5-12 receive a half day of language immersion and a half day of activities, including sports, music, science, and art. 2013-14 Language Immersion International Program: Preschool and Junior School 

IST is now enrolling for our celebrated language-immersion international school. For children ages 3-5, students learn skills and content in our international preschool curriculum in Chinese, French, German, or Spanish. In our Junior School (grades 1-5), students are taught in our dual-immersion international Primary Years Programme (precursor to the I.B. programme) curriculum: Students learn skills and content half the day in one of our five languages (English, Chinese, French, German, or Spanish) and half the day in another language. Call 406-0552 or email admissions@internationalschooloftucson.org for more information.

Spanish Play Groups are forming NOW for April 8-May 6, 2013

IST is now enrolling for a parent/child play group for Spanish language. The play group is led by IST teacher Lucy Gardner, who is a native Spanish speaker and fluent in English. Led by Sra. Gardner, parents and children will play learning games while Sra. Gardner begins speaking Spanish to your child. This play group is also a great beginning for parents who wish to enroll their children in IST's acclaimed Spanish language-immersion preschool program. Call (520) 406-0552 or email admissions@internationalschooloftucson.org to sign up.

The International School of Tucson (IST) is located near the University of Arizona, in Tucson. Our school offers an internationally-based and internationally-grounded bilingual programme of instruction in Chinese / English, French / English, German / English and Spanish / English. The School's philosophy and approaches encourage students to investigate topics without being restricted by traditional compartmentalisation or methods of instruction, and thus allow the learner to develop global understanding.

IST accepts students at the beginning of the semester in which they turn three and if they are fully potty-trained. Most students enter in August, although mid-semester entry is also possible. Our Pre-School classes (Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten) offer full-immersion Chinese, French, German and Spanish. Our dual-immersion Junior School (Elementary) offers French, German and Spanish with other languages possible; Junior School students typically take English as one of their two first languages.

An international faculty ensures that languages are taught by native speakers who are also able to transmit their cultures, values, information and beliefs.
